A Poem About Our Future President, Barack Obama

President-Elect Barack Obama, what an amazing man!

Because of him, we can now say, “Yes, we can.”

This election, by itself, was history in the making.

Now, for my race and me, the future is ours for the taking.

He graduated from Harvard Law with flying colors,

At the top of his class, surpassing many others.

He will change the world for the better,

Helping all of us work together

Do not worry, Mr. King, you did not die in vain.

Look at Mr. Obama, you need not have any shame.

Because of Barack Obama, we have the audacity to hope.

And that, my friend, is reality not a joke.

Obama wants to end this pointless war,

Bringing home our soldiers, of that you can be sure.

His plan of going green is about to begin-

That, my fellow citizens, is “change you can believe in.”

The end of Bush’s presidential era has finally come.

And, in the next few years, we’ll see how great America had become.

Thanks, America, for voting Barack Obama!

I guarantee, now, you’ll see the end of Bush’s drama.
